Bhim Army chief Chandrashekhar Azad was shot at in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday, June 29, 2023. Azad was returning to Saharanpur after attending a programme in Deoband when his convoy was attacked by unidentified assailants.

According to police, Azad was shot in the abdomen and was rushed to a private hospital in Saharanpur. He was later transferred to Saharanpur civil hospital for further treatment. Azad's condition is said to be stable.

The police have arrested one person in connection with the attack. The person has been identified as Sumit, a resident of Saharanpur. The police are still searching for other suspects involved in the attack.
